A Head Start for Entrepreneurs

Start:ME is an entrepreneurship accelerator program modeled after an Atlanta based program designed by Emory University. The program provides participants with 14 weeks of business training, allowing participants to develop their business plans, foster relationships with clients and stakeholders, and present their businesses to potential lenders. This program is an initiative to help Spartanburg natives start successful small businesses within the community.

At the end of the 14-week program, peers will vote for businesses they feel are ready to be awarded a loan up to $5,000 that will help build or grow their business. As part of graduation, entrepreneurs will have an opportunity to share their businesses services and products at the Start:ME Showcase as part of the Farmers’ Market at Harvest Park.

Start:ME will be going into its 3rd year. The portal will open on October 1st which will allow for applications to be submitted. November 25, 2019 is the deadline for applications. Information sessions will begin on October 10, 2019.

* Program takes place every Tuesday from 6pm to 9pm. For enrolled participants only.

Recruitment for the 2020 Start:ME participants will begin on October 1st, 2019.
