Homeownership Programs & Assistance
Owning a home in the Northside is more attainable than ever, thanks to a variety of homeownership programs and assistance options. Whether you’re a first-time buyer or looking for a home closer to work, these resources are designed to help make homeownership affordable.
The NDG, along with partners like Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System, the City of Spartanburg, and CommunityWorks, are working together to make the Northside an accessible option for many. With down payment assistance, low-interest loans, and additional support, homeownership here is within reach.
In some cases, these various programs can be combined to provide expanded assistance!
Northside Downpayment Assistance
On behalf of the Northside Development Group, CommunityWorks will be offering down payment assistance up to $15,000 to first-time home buyers purchasing a home in the Northside Neighborhood.
City of Spartanburg
The City provides assistance for qualifying first-time homebuyers, with up to $20,000 in down payment/closing cost assistance for those at or below 80% of Area Median Income.
The Extended Down Payment Program
Provides up to $50,000 in non-forgivable down payment assistance to eligible homebuyers. The assistance stays with the home—not the homeowner—meaning when the property is sold, the $50,000 is returned to Northside Development Group to help another future homebuyer. This sustainable model ensures long-term impact by continually reinvesting in affordable homeownership opportunities in the Northside community. This program is administered through Carolina Foothills Federal Credit Union.
SRHS Associate Homebuyer Assistance Program
In partnership with CommunityWorks, SRHS offers up to $5,000 in down payment assistance to qualified associates. Additional funding might be available in some situations.
